What are the plans for The Company Archives, the John Company RPG?

Over the past couple of years, we have been working on a John Company role-playing game called The Company Archives. This project was originally designed by Non-Breaking Space and has since been adapted into a mega-game format which we have run at Gen Con and hope to run at other events.

We hope to eventually publish this project. However it requires time to finish properly. We hope to keep you all updated as work continues.

Will there be other language editions?

Yes! We’re working right now with a bunch of publishing partners to create new language editions. Many of the partners we’ve worked with before will be coming on for a reprint of John Company and they are working on the Molly House files right now!

When will Pax Pamir items ship?

Short Answer: it depends!

If you are pledging for just Pax Pamir items, they will ship ASAP if available. Many Pax Pamir items are currently out of stock, but we’re going to be printing a new batch of the coins for the EU and international backers next year. We have them in stock for US customers right now. If you getting a combined order of Pax Pamir and JC/MH Items, they will all ship together. For example are picking up the lastest printing of John Company and Pax Pamir metal coins,

What's this Pledge Manager all about?

After you pledge, Kickstarter will process your pledge payment and we’ll move your pledge over to our pledge management partner BackerKit! We’ve worked with them for years, allowing our backers to choose exactly the items they want in their pledge and safely storing their address information until fulfillment. They provide a robust backend tailored exactly to our needs. There will be an additional fee for any amount remaining once shipping costs are calculated processed in BackerKit.

Why are you charging for these update packs?

We are charging pretty close to the cost of production for these items. These update packs will also be subject to tariff costs, but the biggest reason is that we are not sure how many to make and we’re trying to not add additional burden for pretty small changes. A lot of John Company and Molly House backers will be happy with their complete copies, but we saw an opportunity to improve differences between printings and wanted to make sure all of our earliest adopters we’re not left out.

An Infamous Traffic 2e?

We are indeed working on a new edition of An Infamous Traffic. We will be doing a playtest during the campaign of a very early look at the design, but we’re hoping to launch that project early next year (and it will not feature our add-ons from this campaign).

What about Hellraisers?

Hellraisers in Kanawha County was announced as an upcoming project and we are still working on it! We’re excited to bring that project to crowdfunding when it is ready, but we are still in active development.

BackerKit FAQ

What is BackerKit?

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.

How does BackerKit work?

After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?

The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.

Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.

To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.

How do I update my shipping address?

BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.

When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?

That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.

I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?

As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
