The award-winning creator behind Root, Pax Pamir, and Arcs is back for a new printing of John Company and Jo Kelly's Molly House!
Latest Updates from Our Project:
Prepress Nearly Complete and Production Soon to Begin

Hi everyone,
We've been busy here at Wehrlegig finalizing the details for this printing and getting everything properly underway. We ended up having to do a new run for Pax Pamir as well as both Molly House and John Company, so we're up to our eyes in prepress work! Thankfully, everything is complete, and I just sent along the final files for their last review. We should be entering mass production shortly. This means that the project is broadly on schedule.
I want to note that the speed at which we've worked has been made possible through our integration with Buried Giant Studios. Having Josh help on the editorial side and Cardner on production has made the whole process dramatically easier to handle. It's given all of us time to do better work and get things moving on our next campaign(s). More on those soon.
Final Wooden Pieces
We've got production samples for the new suit tokens. I really like how these turned out. They are both more legible and easier to handle (and stack) while also taking up a bit less volume than their cube counterparts. Over the past few weeks, we've had a lot of fun playing with them as we've traveled to a few events such as GAMA and GDC.
What We're Working on Now
We've all been working hard to get Oath's New Foundations expansion into pre-production and the Arcs campaign ready for its launch next week. If you'd like to be notified of its launch, you can sign up here.
I should also add that Jo Kelly has something really exciting in the works. Check out their new project WENDYBUXXX, a straight-to-VHS game of lifestyle influencers forced to shill a necrocurrency for followers, complete with a full album soundtrack! It will be live on Kickstarter April 28th!
What's Next
We're making steady progress on Hell Raisers and Infamous Traffic. Hell Raisers is currently with its design team, and I'm looking forward to catching up with them soon. An Infamous Traffic saw a lot of work this summer and fall, but has been a largely in stasis during the past few months as we finish this campaign and work through the company transition. All that said, the game is in a really good place, and I'm looking forward to be playing some games of it in a few weeks at Circle DC.
As work on this campaign winds down, I'm also starting to dig into the question of the game's visual language with our graphic design team and begin the process of finding the right illustrator(s). This is being greatly helped by a recent special exhibit at the British Museum on 19th century China and some spectacular books that followed from that (pictured on the right). I'm also using this time to reread some old favorites on the subject and get immersed properly in the subject and how our understanding has shifted over the years. Heck, even my personal understanding of it all has changed a lot in the decade since I worked on AiT 1e! We'll have a lot more to share about that later this year.
Support
As always, if you have any questions, email [email protected]. We've got a bit of a backlog at the moment, but Drew is working through everything and promises that he'll get to you. We appreciate your patience!
Annoucing Buried Giant, Wehrlegig Year Ahead Livestream, Update Pack Details, & More!

Hello everyone!
We have been hard at work finalizing the reprints for Molly House and John Company. Right now we are preparing the files for pre-production and awaiting samples on the new reputation/evidence suit tokens for Molly House. I should have pieces within a couple weeks, and we will be sure to share pictures as soon as we have them. While that is underway, we are putting the final bits of polish on the adjusted Molly House items (which will of course be included the Molly House 1st printing update pack), and making sure the files are ready for the factory.
I'm happy to report that everything is on schedule and we should be entering production in March.
Announcing Buried Giant Studios
While we have been making steady progress on this campaign over the past few months, Drew and I have been navigating a really exciting opportunity. I imagine many of you have already heard the news, but myself and a bunch of folks from Leder Games are forming a new company, Buried Giant Studios. As part of this separation, we were able to purchase Oath and Arcs from Leder Games and will continue to support both titles as well as develop wholly new games. You can read about the announcement here.
This change has far-reaching consequences for the future of Wehrlegig. For years Drew and I have tried to figure out the best way to support these historical games while I also juggled my responsibilities at Leder Games. With Buried Giant Studios, we are able to unify these efforts. I'll continue making fantasy and science fiction games with Kyle Ferrin, Ted Caya, Josh Yearsley, Pati Hyun, and Megan Ganey and Matt Martens. At the same time, Wehrlegig Games will benefit from their help as well. This is less of a change than it might seem. I've always been happy to ask for advice on WGG from this amazing team, but now we are able to work together properly.
Essentially, Wehrlegig Games will be operated as a semi-independent imprint under Buried Giant Studios. This is less of a buy-out than a reorganization that is designed to allow us to improve the quality and quantity of our historical games.
And, later this year, we'll have our next historical game ready for crowdfunding.
Wehrlegig Year Ahead
So, with all that said, Drew and I are finally going to have our annual live stream! Come hang out with us on the Wehrlegig Twitch Channelthis Thursday Noon CST (recording will on Twitch for a week and then it will get posted on our Youtube page next week in case you can't make it). We'll be chatting about what it means for Wehrlegig to be a part of Buried Giant, this reprint campaign, and our new projects. Should be a fun time and I hope to see y'all in the chat!
Details on the Update Packs
With the game about to enter production next month, we can finally share some more details about the update packs.
We've finalized the John Company update pack to include 8 replacement cards for owners of the 1st printing. You'll simply just need to swap out the matching corresponding cards. These cards cover all of the errata from the first printing. The main thing here was correcting the omissions on the 1813 setup card and the remaining cards offer clarifications on a few blackmail and law cards. It's all minor stuff, but we're happy to provide it.
The Molly House 1st printing update pack will include all of the new screen-printed suit tokens, some adjusted item cards, and a few updated reference cards. These will be included in all copies of Molly House in this campaign, so there is no need to add that update pack if you're getting a fresh copy of Molly House.
Timeline update
As we shared earlier in the update, things are still on track! As a reminder, we will be locking all pledges on February 27th and closing down the late-pledge store full offerings shortly after.
We will be charging cards for shipping when manufacturing is nearly complete and we're preparing the games for freight. Payment will be processed May 12th and address verification will start shortly after that. We're hoping that freight will run May - June and we'll be able to start fulfillment in some regions in July and hopefully will be on track to complete fulfillment in all regions by September. If you haven't received your pledge link, you can go to this link or email [email protected]
That's all for now. As soon as we have the wooden samples in for Molly House we'll be sure to update you all again and share some of our upcoming convention travel plans.
BackerKit Pledge Manager Incoming! Late Pledges! Conference!
– Fri, Dec 05, 2025 at 05:31:07 AM
Hey everyone!
Drew here. I wanted to share some key dates and details about what to expect over the coming weeks and months.
Pledge Manager Period
If you are new to our crowdfunding projects, welcome! We partner with BackerKit for their Pledge Manager service and in the coming days you'll be receiving a link from BackerKit via email with your pledge details from this campaign. This BackerKit pledge link is how we'll finalize your pledge, process add-ons, shipping, and tax payment, and critically confirm your delivery address for fulfillment. If this address needs updated at any point, do not worry, you can always go back to your link and manage your pledge during a few distinct windows. Payment for outstanding balances is not charged until the games are manufactured and we are nearly ready to ship your pledge.
The BackerKit links will start getting emailed out next week (we'll be doing them in a small batch first in case there are any issues that need addressed) and all should be mailed out before December 12th! Please reach out if you haven't received your email with a pledge survey after Dec 12th.
Furthermore, we will need to confirm everyone's add-ons before then for production, so pledges must all be finalized before pledges are locked on February 27.
Critically, we are aiming for card payment processing on any remaining balance to happen sometime in lateMay. Exact date will come in an update in April when we know how production is moving along. Fulfillment is planned to start in June through August, depending on how fast we get through production, freight, and fulfillment by zone.
Late Pledges are Open
I also wanted to let you know that we've opened up our late pledge grace period for anyone that missed the campaign. Feel free to tell anyone that you know. If you wanted to add an item to your pledge, please don't put in a late pledge for it! Just wait another week and add it as an add-on when you receive your pledge manager link.
You are getting this update because you've already pledged of course, but if you knew anyone that thought they missed their chance to back, now's a good time to still put in for a pledge. We'll close this late pledge period early next year.
Conference Weekend
Cole and I are off at UChicago today for this incredible game design symposium put on by their Medievalists and game design lab. It looks like it'll make for quite the interesting event and I thought I should share with our backers about the exciting places where we get to share and talk about our work.
If you are curious to follow along, we'll be posting about it on our social channels over the weekend.

Thanks as always and keep an eye out at the end of next week for your BackerKit pledge manager email! If you have any questions at all, best reach out over email: [email protected]

Funded!

Dear Backers,
Thank you so much for your support. Looking at the funding total (390,000!?), it’s hard to capture the uncertainty that Drew and I felt in the days before the launch. In the world of historical tabletop games, we try not to take anything for granted. We have been so honored to have an amazing group of supporters over the years that have allowed us to undertake difficult and strange projects. These are exactly the kinds of projects that usually don’t get published. If this is your first campaign with us or your first crowdfunding project entirely, we are so glad you're here.
As I mentioned in the first update, this campaign has been directed towards a new audience for us. We wanted to try something we had never done before. We wanted to see how the games would do if presented as a completed project to a wider audience. People who peeked at our booth at Pax Unplugged last year as they walked by. Folks who took a picture of a game of Pax Pamir set up at a cafe and later wondered what that game’s name might have been. Some of you might never have encountered a game on a subject like this. Others might love these subjects but never thought that a game could try to tell these stories.
This is a campaign for you and my goodness did you show up.
Usually at the end of a campaign, Drew and I take a week or two off to recover and prepare for the long march ahead. This campaign requires no such respite. We are testing the adjustments to Molly House right now. The new edition of An Infamous Traffic is in active development and may be ready for its own campaign within a few months. Drew even found time during this busy week for a game of Hellraisers of Kanawha County with Matilda!
As a token of that progress, we have two things to share. First, please enjoy a draft set of revised items of Molly House. If you already own a copy, you can easily print these out and include them in your games. They are still in development, but hopefully you can get a sense of the power of these adjustments.
Second, we are happy to announce that Molly House has been approved for public beta on BGA! In the coming days the page will be fully open for any BGA players to explore. Very soon, Molly House will be listed on BGA here. We had such a fun time playing Molly House on BGA with Jo a few weeks ago, I hope you'll check it out.
What's next?
Over the coming months we’ll keep you posted with project updates and action items. Now that our funding period has wrapped, we’ll start working on the files ready for production and also get our Pledge Manager BackerKit built out.
In a few weeks we will put out an update with details and dates when the BackerKit PM opens and when you can expect to get your BackerKit survey. Your Kickstarter pledge will be credited to your BackerKit account and you’ll receive an email from them about your survey where you will be able to manage your pledge, make changes to add-ons, and sort out shipping information. They will manage payments for any remaining balances on
If you ever have any pressing questions about your pledge, you can always reach us best over email: [email protected]. For now, we’ll give another humble thank you for giving us the opportunity to continue making historical games like this.
Best,

Hey Backers!
I cannot believe we're coming into the final two days of this reprint campaign having already raised over $300,000. Absolutely wild. I am so humbled by this amazing community that keeps growing and showing up to fund projects like ours.
Cole and I run a pretty small operation and it still remains tricky to estimate the size of a print run without running a crowdfunding. Thank you so much for pledging and patiently waiting while we manufacture and ship your items. Here are some fun bits of news and important info for the days and weeks ahead.
Final Livestream!
We're wrapping up this campaign with another livestream celebration! We'll chat about John Company and Molly House updates, and we plan to play a 3 player demo of our upcoming next game, An Infamous Traffic: Second Edition. We'll go live tonight at 9pm EST on Our Twitch channel. We will put the recording on our YouTube channel later too.
Also, because Cole is just so wild about livestreaming, he is also on the Leder Games Twitch channel right now! Go say hey and hang out with him and the Leder crew if you can't make our later stream.
San Diego Hist Con
In other news, Cole and I went out to San Diego this past weekend and what a trip it was! It has been hosted the past few years in this incredible Portugeuse meeting hall where about 25 tables are filled with folks playing everything from quick historical trick taking games to Here I Stand. I got a chance to throw down South Pacific with Mark Herman, demo Paul Wright and Liz Davidson's Foxes and Lions, and of course, run some our games, including hosting a 20+ person megagame of John Company with a letter writing ttrpg module called The Company Archives by Non-breaking Space Games (designer of Cross-Bronx Expressway). We'll hopefully have news about our plans for sharing The Company Archives in the coming months.

Support + BackerKit Pledge Manager
In our next update, we'll go over our production schedule in more detail and make sure that all our new backers know exactly what to expect over the coming months. If you ever have any questions at all about your pledge, the best way to contact us is always reaching out over email: [email protected]
In the coming weeks, you will receive a link from BackerKit to your pledge survey where we will be using their pledge manager to collect addresses and verify all items and shipping rates for backers so you know exactly what will be in your package and when it will ship. They continue to offer the best of the back-end services for Pledge Management and we are thrilled to be working with them again.
Thank you for helping bring John Company and Molly House back into print!
