Hello Backers!
In a few hours (1pm CDT/18:00 GMT), Jo, Cole and I are going to be getting together to play Molly House on our Twitch Channel today. We'll be playing on the fully automated BoardGameArena mod that is nearly ready to move from alpha into public beta testing in the coming weeks. We haven't played all together in ages, so I'm really looking forward to it. Hope to see you there!
Also, here's a recording for folks that didn't make it to the last stream too.
Gaming Social Justice Event
Next, I wanted to share this event happening at King's College London on November 14th, the final day of this crowdfunding campaign! From their website: "This afternoon workshop will draw together designers, gamers and researchers to examine board gaming and social justice issues in research and pedagogy. Join us for game demos and an open forum, exploring next steps towards further collaborations."
Jo will be doing demos of Molly House alongside other tabletop designers, including Matteo Menapace (co-designer of Daybreak). It looks like a lovely time and if you curious, pick up a ticket here.
Podcast Recommendation
I'll keep plugging podcasts across our updates and next up is Space-Cast!. We are big fans of Dan Thurot's writing on Space-Biff! and his podcast Space-Cast! is just as lovely. Allow me to share this interview with Jo from back in March. It's a really intimate and insightful chat about the design history and a wonderful companion to Dan's written piece on Molly House.
Spiel Photos
And lastly, I just wanted to share some photos from Essen. We heard back from our demo team that they played over 400 games of Molly House over the weekend and they even squeezed in an additional demo table because folks were so curious about it. Wish we were there!
Thanks again for making this campaign an incredible success and have a Happy Halloween!
-Drew

Hello backers!
Thank you so much for being here. Whether this is your 5th crowdfunding campaign with us or your first, we are thrilled to have you along for this campaign!
Over the coming weeks, we'll be sharing some behind-the-scenes looks at development, playing some Molly House, and showing off new stuff.
Schedule Update
Tonight we are going to stream a little John Company show-and-tell and talk about the in-development ttrpg supplement, The Company Archives from Non-Breaking Space. Come on by with any of your burning questions (or drop them in a comment below). We'll have the recording of the stream up on our twitch channel. We'll start the stream tonight @ 8pm CDT.
If you want a bit of background on the event, check out Charlie Theel's write up of our Gen Con event or NB's write up from the first event a year earlier.
We're pushing back a demo of the John Company Events in India Companion App a couple weeks so we can keep working on some UI improvements. It is still far from done, but having a little bit longer will make for a dramatically better demo.
For folks that are excited about the Events in India App and want to help, we'd love to hear from you! I just started a new thread for folks that want to chat about the JoCo app in our Discord server. Tell us all your wildest dreams for the app we'll see what we can do.
Molly House at SPIEL Essen
SPIEL is the world's largest game fair in Essen, Germany and Molly House will be on the floor for demos all 4 days! While I wish we were there this year, our exhibit partners brought the few remaining games we had from the first printing for demos etc. I'm thrilled Molly House will be on display for the 200,000+ attendees and if you are there, please send me some photos of the booth (3G-300)!
Podcast Recommendation
We did not put up a section for podcasts on the main feed because I was hoping to drop some sporadic podcasts in updates across the campaign. Here's a couple of fun ones that we haven't shared in a while:
Subject Matter: Table Top has an interview with Jo about Molly House and another episode on John Company with Philip Stern (Author of The Company-State).
Game Data recorded a big interview with Cole that I think a lot of folks may have missed and it's a really great one if you like big 2+ hour podcasts.

Thanks as always and see you on stream!

An Incredible Start

Dear Backers,
Thank you so much for your support. Our work would be impossible without your help. It's tremendously heartening to see the campaign get off to such a strong start.
Over the past few years, Drew and I have been carefully building Wehrlegig Games. Generally, we've been able to self-finance small reprints and have done our best to keep all of our games in stock as we developed new titles. However, this year presented new challenges that forced us to reconsider our plans. Part of this was because of changes in policies here in the United States. The uncertainty around tariffs and shipping meant that a small miscalculation could seriously jeopardize our little company. Thankfully with Molly House we avoided the worst-case scenarios. We were very happy with its release and delighted that so many folks have been able to play it in the months since. But, we also recognized that, in the present situation, we wouldn't be able to reprint it and John Company without your help.
With this campaign, we want to make sure both John Company and Molly House remain in print. This campaign has already dwarfed our expectations. Speaking frankly, Drew and I simply had no idea how well it would do. We still don't, really. We were fairly sure that a big portion of our previous backers would be back for the upgrade packs. We appreciate you all so much and cannot wait to share more about what we are working on next. But, unlike our other campaigns, project is not just for you.
It's our hope that this campaign can introduce both John Company and Molly House to a new set of players. These games are no longer ambitious outlines or works-in-progress. These are two beautiful and finished games. We are so happy to be able to share on their own terms.
When Drew and I go to game conventions, we constantly run into players who have never heard of our historical games and who are thrilled by the prospect of playing a game about the sorts of esoteric subjects that excite us. We think there is a real hunger out there for games that treat their players and their subjects seriously and are unafraid to take on complex or difficult topics. This campaign is dedicated to those potential players, and, from the look of our first day, it seems like those players are showing up.
On behalf of Drew and myself, know that we see you all and are delighted by what this means for both of these games and for the future of this little venture.
